Tragedy as British man dies after being discharged from hospital just days before his wedding

A British man has died after he was discharged from hospital following a motorbike crash where he sustained a head injury.

32-year-old British man Kyle Campbell had suffered the head injury while riding his bike in Thailand towards his own wedding, with him being discharged from hospital after only a few hours of treatment.

Metro reports that he died in his sleep on 30 July, and a JustGiving page set up to help his family paid tribute to his memory.

They said they had 'broken hearts' to share news of Kyle's death, and this whole situation had turned into 'unimaginable heartbreak' which left his 12-year-old son without a father.

They said: "It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden and tragic loss of our beloved Kyle Campbell.

"Kyle travelled to Thailand to marry his partner of two and a half years, looking forward to beginning the next chapter of their lives together. What should have been a joyful occasion ended in unimaginable heartbreak.

"Whilst in Thailand, Kyle was involved in a motorcycle accident and sustained a head injury. Following treatment at a local hospital, he was discharged.

"Our family have since been informed that the medical care he received was inadequate, and tragically, he later passed away as a result of his injuries.

"His death has devastated everyone who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his precious 12-year-old son, who lived with him, as well as family and friends who are now facing the unimaginable pain of losing him so suddenly."

Kyle's family have raised over £10,000 to help pay for the various fees involved with bringing his body back to the UK and help his loved ones through the most difficult time of their lives.

The man's fiancée Kannika Masasai wrote on Facebook that she would always remember him.

She write: "Our relationship was going so well.

"You will forever be in my beautiful memories. A love that will never fade, beautiful memories, and a long journey with the one I loved."

While the man's family have successfully reached their goal thanks to many generous donations from friends and the wider public the JustGiving page is still open for those who wish to provide a further helping hand.

A head injury is a particular danger from motorbike riding, with the Brain Injury Group warning that the lack of a physical barrier between a person's head and the world around them puts a bike rider at greater risk than a car driver.

The worst impacts of head injuries can be delayed for some time after they occur, with symptoms able to be delayed by hours or possibly even days, though the delay makes them no less serious and they require an immediate trip to the hospital.

Kyle's family have claimed in their message on what happened to him that he received 'inadequate' medical care in a Thailand hospital with him being discharged after just a few hours and later dying of head injuries he sustained in the motorbike crash.
