Dulux advert dog gives birth to seven puppies

Olivia the Old English Sheepdog gave birth to her litter in Lincolnshire

If you're in need of something to make you smile this weekend, then look no further because the Dulux advert dog has given birth to seven puppies.

And yes, they're just as adorable as you'd expect. Maybe even more so.

The current dog representing paint brand Dulux is an Old English Sheepdog named Olivia, who lives at a home in Lincolnshire.

This week, it's been revealed that Olivia gave birth last month to a litter of seven little pups, including five girls and two boys, who make up the newest members of the famous family line.

Now six-weeks-old, the pups have been pictured playing together and enjoying what's left of the little sunshine we've had over the summer.

As they get older, the pups could become the future faces of Dulux's adverts, with the company's team describing them as 'loveable bundles of irresistible cuteness that exude a unique charm'.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director and Colour Expert at Dulux, commented: “The Old English Sheepdog has been the famous face of the brand for over 60 years now.

"As proud sponsors of the Old English Sheepdog Rescue & Welfare Fund, we’re delighted to be able to finally share the exciting news of the irresistible puppy additions to the Dulux family. The pups are stars in their own right, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of them in the years to come.”

The arrival of the litter comes at a time when the Old English Sheepdog is listed as 'at watch' by the Kennel Club due to continued falling numbers in puppy registrations.

Registrations for the fluffy dogs were down by 12 percent from 377 in 2021 to 333 in 2022. Sadly figures are expected to drop again in 2023, though the arrival of Olivia's litter offers some hope for the future of the breed.

Dulux first introduced the Old English Sheepdog to its adverts in 1961. Since then, numerous pooches have taken on the role of being the face of the brand.

To celebrate the arrival of the newest members of the family, and in honour of International Dog Day tomorrow (26 August), Dulux is offering seven people the chance to win a coveted Dulux Dog toy.

If you want to be in with a chance of winning, keep an eye on Dulux’s Instagram page - @duluxuk – for the giveaway post to enter.
