Farmer rescues cow completely swallowed by sinkhole in tense footage

Farmer rescues cow completely swallowed by sinkhole in tense footage

Don't worry, the cow ended up just fine

Things turned out alright for one very unlucky cow that had the misfortune to fall into a sinkhole with no way to moo-ve on up out of there and back to the rest of the herd.

Fortunately for the concerned cow, it was able to be rescued as a local farmer was able to lift it out of the sinkhole with footage showing the resourceful rescue.

Witton Castle Country Park posted the video of the rescue on social media and showed us a sinkhole wide enough for a man to fall through.

Sadly in this case it had been a cow which fell into the hole and luckily for the bedraggled bovine beast the rescuers were able to get straps around it and hoist it out of the sinkhole.

Of course, such an endeavour would have taken the strength of many to accomplish, so it's lucky that they had a vehicle with enough power to do the heavy lifting.

As the cow was hoisted up and out of the hole it looked a bit dead and didn't seem to be moving but thankfully there were signs of life.

The hole actually got wider as the cow was lifted to safety so falling in in the first place must have been quite a surprise for the unfortunate animal.

Having been pulled to safety, the cow which had just been dangling in the air was laid down so the straps which had been attached to it could be removed.

It then gingerly got back onto its hooves and headed back to the herd of other cows with an interesting story to tell his friends.

Witton Castle said that 'nobody knew about' the sinkhole before the poor cow fell into it and that the majestic mooer was 'absolutely fine in the field with his pals'.

"Hey guys, I've got the craziest story. See that hole over there? Don't go near it."

Many people's favourite fact about cows is that they can genuinely become friends with each other and some cows even make best friends that they don't like to be separated from.

Cows also have other uses, like the time when a herd of them became vigilante crime fighters and caught a suspect who was on the run from police by chasing him around their field and getting him spotted by a thermal imaging camera.

Some cows in Australia also had to deal with a belligerent drunk pig that quaffed 18 beers and tried to start a fight with other farmyard animals.

Cows have also demonstrated excellent taste in quiz shows as it turns out they're udderly devoted to The Chase.
