Robert Jenner - known by his nickname ‘The Naked Carpenter’ - has been slapped with a 30-year jail sentence after being found guilty of attempted murder.

Jenner, 50, is no stranger to law enforcement, previously receiving a 12-month jail sentence for walking around Maidstone, Kent in mesh trousers and no underwear.

He was then re-arrested shortly after release, due to showing up at a police station in see-through pants.

Jenner was then arrested again in 2023 for attempted murder just days after being released.

On 15 June, 2023, police arrived at Jenner's flat in Kent after receiving enquiries of a man running naked through a park. Jenner then attempted to barricade himself inside the flat in order to prevent officers from entering.

An officer was then able to gain access to his flat where he repeatedly attacked them with a pair of scissors, causing the officer injuries to his head, face, neck and limbs.

The assault only ended when several more officers were able to gain entrance to the property and retain Jenner.

Kent Police added that the officer was taken to hospital and received 'extensive' surgery after sustaining around 20 separate wounds.

The incident had taken place just two days after Jenner was released from prison for breaching a court order banning him from wearing see-through clothing.

Jenner was later found guilty of attempted murder in December 2024 and has now received a 30-year prison sentence.

"Jenner was responsible for a sustained and savage attack against a frontline police officer dedicated to serving his local community," Chief Superintendent Neil Loudon said of the incident.

"This terrifying ordeal lasted more than 20 seconds and only ended when colleagues were able to intervene and assist the officer in restraining Jenner."

He continued: "Jenner has inflicted some of the worst injuries to a constable I have ever seen and this case is also a reminder of the challenges police officers face through their readiness to confront danger and protect others.

"Throughout all the court proceedings Jenner has displayed his clear contempt for the law and has also remained unrepentant for his shocking actions. He remains a serious and substantial threat to the public and will now rightly be in prison for a very long time."

Courts added that Jenner has been deemed a 'dangerous' offender and will be expected to serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before he can apply for parole.

Upon release, he will then be subject to an extended licence period of five years.
