North West shows off new diamond 'shark teeth' leaving people divided

North West posted a snap of her new grill in her third Instagram post last week.

The daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West started her Instagram profile, which the caption says is 'managed by parents', and has now shown off a new custom-made grill in a post on the platform.

North, who is just 12 years old, showed her followers the set, which was made by famous celebrity jeweller Johnny Dang. The post racked up some 1.9 million likes, with North pictured showing off the grill, as well as her outfits.

As for the grill itself, that was diamond-encrusted, and was made to look like shark's teeth, with each tooth on the jewellery which is worn over the teeth coming down to a point.

But the post drew a mixed reaction on social media.

While there were a lot of people in the comments who shared their admiration, there were also a lot of people who expressed concern over North's intense public exposure to 1.1 million followers at such as young age. Some of them urged her to not want to grow up too quickly, and to enjoy her childhood.

"You're 12 yo don't let them rob your childhood, u got enough time to be an adult i promise," wrote one.

Meanwhile, another said: "You are 12… don’t ruin yourself with all of that stuff"

A third highlighted the dangers that the internet can pose, writing: "This just makes me sad she’s so young should we not be protecting her from the internet for as long as we can? wtf."

In addition to an Instagram account, North West also shares a TikTok account with her mum Kim Kardashian.

But Kardashian has indicated that she may not share the concerns of the commenters, as this TikTok account responded to a clip from Daily Mail Australia which covered the backlash.

The comment read: "This is such a non-issue."

It's not just the grill which has people talking either, with images previously being shared to Instagram of North sporting fake tattoos.

Kardashian has spoken out about her daughter's fashion in an appearance on Alex Cooper's Call Me Daddy podcast, she said: “It’s really hard and it’s really interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things. But then my daughter tries to wear it, and then I’m like, ‘OK, we’re never wearing that again.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world.”
