A hotel chain has clarified reports after being accused of cancelling bookings for the four days that Oasis concerts are being held in the area before allowing customers to later 'rebook at a higher price'.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that iconic rock band Oasis has reformed, with Liam and Noel Gallagher settling their differences some 15 years years after the band fell apart ahead of their headline slot at Rock en Sine festival in Paris.

Noel quit the band, stating he could no longer work with his younger brother. But that's now behind them, according to the brothers themselves, with a huge 14 date UK and Ireland tour announced alongside the long-awaited reunion.

With tickets set to be released on general sale this Saturday - after a presale that takes place on Friday - there is set to be a mad dash for tickets with four million people reportedly set to try and get their hands on the chance to see the Mancunian brothers in the flesh. Just over one million tickets will be available in total across all dates.

The huge demand for tickets has also seen people book up hotels up and down the country, with Brits and the Irish ready to go wherever they need to travel in order to see Oasis live once more - or for the first time if you're from a younger generation.

Hotels have sold out, with prices also surging - and in some cases more than doubling - across booking websites.

One hotel group has now spoken to LADbible after customers complained that their bookings across the four Oasis concerts dates in Manchester were being cancelled, with the region's night time economy adviser claiming the rooms were put back on sale for 'three times the price' originally paid.

Oasis will do four homecoming shows at Manchester's Heaton Park on 11, 12, 19, and 20 July, 2025, with 80,000 fans expected to show up at each concert.

Punters who had booked rooms for these dates at the Maldron Hotel Manchester City and Maldron Hotel Cathedral Quarter found their bookings cancelled.

Bringing attention to the issue, Greater Manchester's Night Time Economy Advisor, Sacha Lord, posted on X: "Hey Maldron Hotels. I'm being contacted by several people who booked your hotel for the Oasis concert, to say their rooms have just been cancelled and are now back up for three times the price.

"I'm sure this is a 'computer error'... easy to correct. Do the right thing."

Dalata Hotel Group, which runs Maldron Hotels, spoke to LADbible about the situation in which the company confirmed rooms had been cancelled.

But they clarified this was due to a 'technical error', with more rooms able to be booked than were available. Dalata Hotel Group also confirmed that customers were later able to book rooms at its two Manchester hotels for a 'higher price', something the company also put down to 'the same technical error'.

Rooms booked prior to 26 August will be honoured, Dalata confirmed, with the company apologising for the cancellations for bookings on the days following this.

A spokesperson for Dalata Hotel Group said: "Due to a technical error with our booking system on 26 and 27 August 2024, substantially more rooms were booked than were available for the nights of the Oasis concerts on 11 /12 /19 /20 July 2025 at Maldron Hotel Manchester City and Maldron Hotel Cathedral Quarter.

"As a result, we are unable to honour all bookings made on these dates, and we are actively engaging with customers regarding their bookings.

"The hotels are currently not taking any bookings while we investigate the issue. This is not an attempt to resell rooms at inflated prices, rather an overbooking issue due to a technical error with our booking systems.

"Additionally, due to the same technical error, a small number of customers were able to book the rooms at a higher price later that evening. We will also be unable to accommodate these bookings.

"‌We will be honouring all bookings made prior to 26 August. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Where will Oasis tickets be sold?

Fans will be able to buy tickets from 9am on Saturday 31st August from Ticketmaster, SEE Tickets and GIGSANDTOURS. Hospitality packages will also be available via Seat Unique.
