If there's one way in which Brits keep track of the economy, it's by the price of a pint.
Depending on your age, you might remember a time where you could pick up a beer for less than £3 or five shillings in your local, but the cost of living crisis has taken that away from us as well.
It's no surprise that so many young people are moving away from alcohol for their weeknight and weekend activities given we can barely afford anything but if there's one place that still has a reputation for being a big old binge it's a day at the races.
The Grand National concludes tomorrow (Saturday 11 April) and it seems as if punters are far from happy with the prices that they're being forced to pay to drown the sorrows of their horses losing, or to celebrate their horses winning.

If there's two stories we're guaranteed to get every year when the horse racing festival at Aintree gets underway, it's that someone has pulled off an incredible bet and that people are apathetic about pint prices.
This year is no different, with many moaning about the fact that a pint will likely set them back over £7, which might well be customary in London but in Liverpool, it feels outrageous.

After the Merseyside meeting opened for business earlier this week, racegoers have noted that anything on draught will cost £7.80, while cans and bottles aren't far off.
As per Wales Online, the full list of drinks prices are below, but even reading them ahead of time might not be enough to stop you from being shocked when you see it in front of your eyes.

Still, £3.50 for a Coke Zero isn't exactly cheap.
