Prince William's whopping salary for 2025 has been revealed.
As the heir to the British throne and a working member of the Royal Family, the Prince of Wales doesn't earn a salary in the traditional sense like the rest of us, but instead benefits from managing the Duchy of Cornwall estate.
Valued at around £1.26bn, the Duchy was established in 1337 by King Edward III as a means of supporting the heir to the throne. The sprawling estate covers 135,000 acres across 23 counties in the South West of England and includes land, farms, and property.
After Charles became King in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II's death, William inherited the title and now makes an income from managing the lands.

So how much did he make in the last year?

According to a report released by the Duchy earlier this year, William earned a total of £22.9 million over the 2024-2025 period during his second year as the Duke of Cornwall, down slightly from last year's £23.6 million.
The money covers all expenses, including 'official, charitable, and private activities', for William, his wife Kate Middleton, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
While the exact figure has not been revealed, William is also understood to pay income tax on his earnings.
What does Prince William do as the Duke of Cornwall?
As the head of the estate, William is expected to oversee the effective management of lands and assets tied to the Duchy, as well as supporting the communities which reside inside the lands.
This includes numerous visits, heading up an initiative to combat homelessness within the town of Newquay and goals to make the estate net-zero by 2032.

The earnings follow a turbulent year for the Royal Family, which saw the Prince's uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, stripped of his titles and royal privileges due to his previous association with disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Mountbatten-Windsor, 65, has faced increased public scrutiny over his links to Epstein and allegations made by late Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre – which he has continuously denied.
The pair previously reached an out-of-court settlement in 2022 after she sued him for sexual assault.
Giuffre's death by suicide and posthumous memoir brought the allegations back into the spotlight, seeing the King himself heckled over his brother's alleged antics.

How does the Royal Family make its money?
The Royal Family is funded through various public and private sources, including the Sovereign Grant, the Duchy of Lancaster, and the Duchy of Cornwall.
Costing £86.3 million for the 2024-25 period, the Sovereign Grant is a percentage of profit from the Crown Estate which covers the upkeep of all lands and properties falling within the estate as well as the payment of staff.
This includes funding the official duties of working Royals, such as Princess Anne and Prince Edward.
When it comes to expenses for the monarch, Charles receives private funds from the Privy Purse, which is part of the Duchy of Lancaster, which is estimated to be worth £654 million. This covers any personal expenses not covered by the Sovereign Grant and supports both the King and the Queen.
The family are also understood to have private wealth generated from personal investments and trusts, while non-working members of the family - such as Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall - receive money from their individual careers.
