Officials have approached Victoria Beckham to ask her if she wants to renew the rights to the name of her son Brooklyn Beckham.
The trademark of Brooklyn Beckham's name is now up for renewal, and officials at the Intellectual Property Office have sent a formal request to Victoria to ask if she would like to renew it.
The news has come after Brooklyn cut himself off from his family in a bombshell statement shared on social media in which he accused his parents of trying to 'ruin' the relationship with his wife, actor Nicola Peltz.
Fashion designer Victoria has owned the rights to the trademark of her son's name since 2016, but these rights are due to expire in December this year.

If someone owns an Intellectual Property Office (IPO) trademark then anyone else using that name to make money without the permission of the trademark owner could face legal action.

In June the officer reportedly contacted her about renewing the trademark, which would include a £245 fee as well as specifying a class of goods or services that they want to apply the trademark to.
A source close to Victoria told The Sun: “The original application was just a formality. Brooklyn has had control of his trademark since he turned 18.
“The paperwork is renewed periodically but it was only ever in the name of his parents because it was taken out when he was a minor.”
In January this year, Brooklyn shared a long social media post announcing that he would be publicly cutting ties with his parents.
He even claimed that his parents had tried to 'bribe' him into giving the rights to his name, writing: “Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”
In the lengthy post on his Instagram, Brooklyn wrote: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.

“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
He went on to make his position with his parents very clear, writing: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.
“The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into."
He added: “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
