Woman who spent £1,000 on Creamfields ticket left after 24 hours and ‘won’t go again’
A woman was left fuming after paying £1,000 for a ticket to Creamfields festival, and has sworn that never again will she travel to another event.
The woman, named only as Julie, purchased a four day bronze camping ticket for Creamfields, in Daresbury. Creamfields is the largest electronic dance music festival in the UK.
UK festivals can be a massive amount of fun, a place where the normal rules of society don't apply and people can just let loose and exist in this world away from their everyday lives, for a little while at least.
But this being the UK there is of course one factor which can make a festival a gorgeous sunny weekend spent with your friends, or a post-apocalyptic mud bath.

And when Julie arrived, despite booking a pre-pitched tepee tent and being able to use proper toilets and avoiding the assault on the senses that is a festival portaloo, Julie said she ended up leaving after just 24 hours.
She said that it just 'wasn't the vibe' for her, sharing pictures of the mud that resulted at the event, the Liverpool ECHO reports.
As we mentioned, that famous British weather is a big factor in any festival, and for Creamfields this year the heavens opened, with heavy showers, winds, and even thunderstorms.
Combined with the large number of people walking through the festival site and you have a recipe for a lot of mud, though the festival's organisers responded by putting down hay and bark chippings in an effort to improve the situation.
Around 80,000 people are expected to attend this year's Creamfields, with 250 artists scheduled to perform.
"Never again. £1,027 for a ticket, pre pitched tent and outfits, fill tank of fuel," said Julie. "Creamfields 2026 [will] definitely be a touchy subject for a while."
And she revealed that this wasn't the full expense either.
"That's not even with everything eld I brought, essentials etc, I might cry," she added.
Creamfields has since put out a statement on social media advising festival goers about the mud situation, including sensible footwear.
"Currently there are some muddy areas of ground on site," the festival wrote. "While the ground is still generally good and won't stop you dancing we strongly advise wearing good waterproof footwear."
But while Julie was left less than impressed by her festival experience, others did not agree with her outlook on going to festivals and shared their thoughts in the comments on the post.
Some shared their own festival stories, with one replying: "We arrived at Download Festival on the Wednesday ten minutes after we pitched tents up it rained non stop until about midday on the Monday!
"Old clothes, wellies, waterproofs, bin bag over suits with packing tape seams. Pitch the tents with the entrance facing downhill. Adapt overcome enjoy! Or be a utter wuss!"
Another advised that the key thing is appropriate clothing.
"You only need wellies and waterproofs and its fine its all part of the experience," they said.
Others were a little more sympathetic, with one recalling that they too lasted 24 hours, though they didn't let it put them off, writing: "I camped once, lasted 24hrs also. I get a hotel now."
