Ukrainian Man Offers To Tow Russian Army Out Of Fuel Back To Russia

A remarkable viral clip seemingly shows a Ukrainian man jokingly offering to tow a Russian army tank that's ran out of fuel.

The clip was captioned: "A priceless exchange of a brave Ukrainian citizen with Russian army stuck out of fuel."

In translated text, the Ukrainian man says: "Are you guys broken down?" to which the Russian officers replied: "Out of fuel."

The Ukrainian man asked: "Can I tow you back... to Russia?"

The Russian army officials then laugh at the man's question.

"Do you know where you're going?" the Ukrainian man follows up with.

Russian officers: "No, no...[inaudible].

"To Kyiv, damn it, f*** off...what do they say on the news?"

The Ukrainian man hits back with: "Well, while everything is on our side, yours and prisoners surrender well...because the boys also do not know where they are going?

"And I asked the whole column, people like you: no one knows where they are where they are going."

One user joked: "So... I'm kind of starting to understand how Ukraine elected a comedian president...

"There are so many of these videos of Ukrainians just roasting soldiers. Third degree burn one-liners."

Another commented: "From beginning to end, this may well be the most stunningly surreal 57 seconds of another person's life I've ever witnessed.

"Ukranians continue to display a level of cool ferocity in the face of their country's tyrannous invasion that is just...awe-inspiring. #IStandWithUkraine."

Someone else wrote: "They're probably not lost, just not told where they are going by their superiors.

"And maybe not even that, telling a civilian where your convoy is going may not be the smartest thing to do."

Russian forces looked to be closing in on Ukraine’s capital on Saturday (26 February).

City officials warned of street fighting and urged residents to stay inside and take cover.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s president, has been posting video messages of himself and other national leaders in Kyiv since the invasion began on Thursday but his exact whereabouts were not publicly known.

Mr Zelenskyy was urged early on Saturday to evacuate Kyiv at the behest of the US government but turned down the offer, according to a senior American intelligence official with direct knowledge of the conversation.

The official quoted the president as saying 'the fight is here' and that he needed anti-tank ammunition but 'not a ride'.

In his latest message on Saturday, Mr Zelenskyy said Russian attempts to forge into Kyiv have been repelled and Moscow’s plan to quickly seize the capital and install a puppet government has been thwarted.

“The real fighting for Kyiv is ongoing,” Mr Zelenskyy said, accusing Russia in a video message of hitting infrastructure and civilian targets.

“We will win.”
