A surgeon who operated on Charlie Kirk after he was shot said it was a 'miracle' no one else was killed, organisation Turning Point USA has claimed.
Far-right activist Kirk was shot dead while addressing a rally at Utah Valley University, with the bullet striking him in the neck.
Kirk was known for his hardline beliefs on topics including the civil rights movement led by Martin Luther King Jr, which he called a 'mistake', as well as female reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, immigration, and gun violence, calling some gun deaths a year 'worth it' to maintain Second Amendment rights.
The person who shot Kirk is believed to have used a .30-06 bolt Winchester hunting rifle, which is designed to kill large animals, and police have since arrested and charged a suspect, Tyler Robinson.

Now, Turning Point USA, the far-right organisation Kirk was a founding member of, has claimed that one aspect of Kirk led to 'miracle'.
A spokesperson for the organisation has claimed that Kirk's bone density was so high that it stopped the bullet from passing through his body and hitting anyone else.
Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for Turning Point USA, said: "I want to address some of the discussion about the lack of an exit wound with Charlie. I'm usually not interested in delving into most of this kind of online chatter, and I apologise this is somewhat graphic, but in this case, the fact that there wasn't an exit wound is probably another miracle, and I want people to know."
He went on to write: "I just spoke with the surgeon who worked on Charlie in the hospital... He said the bullet 'absolutely should have gone through, which is very very normal for a high powered, high velocity round. I've seen wounds from this caliber many times and they always just go through everything. This would have taken a moose or two down, an elk, etc.'

"But it didn't go through. Charlie's body stopped it," he added.
"I mentioned to his doctor that there were dozens of staff, students, and special guests standing directly behind Charlie on the other side of the tent, and he replied: 'It was an absolute miracle that someone else didn't get killed.
"His bone was so healthy and the density was so so impressive that he's like the man of steel. It should have just gone through and through. It likely would have killed those standing behind him too.'"
He concluded: "Even in death, Charlie managed to save the lives of those around him."

Kirk's death has been met with controversy in the US, including Jimmy Kimmel's show Jimmy Kimmel Live being cancelled after the host claimed that Trump supporters were seeking to exploit Kirk's shooting for political gain.
