A huge update has been provided after a decomposing body was discovered in the boot of an impounded Tesla.
The car, which was in a tow yard near Mansfield Avenue and Romaine Street in Hollywood, was found to be registered to music artist d4vd.
On Monday (8 September), the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call after a 'foul smell' was detected coming out of the boot of said car.
Authorities believed the vehicle had been at the property for several days, with the publication reporting that it was registered to d4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, at a Texas address.

Burke, best known for tunes such as 'Feel It' and 'Leave Her', is currently on a world tour and was seen preparing for a show on social media when news broke of the corpse in the Tesla's boot.

The BBC reports that a spokesperson for Burke said that he'd been 'informed about what's happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities'.
Yesterday (16 September), it was revealed by Los Angeles authorities that the dismembered corpse found in the musician's vehicle was identified as a teenage girl.
The victim's identity wasn't announced, but she was said to be between 14 and 15 years old, sources claimed to ABC7.

The outlet goes on to say that the cause of death has not yet been determined by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police found her deceased in the front trunk of the car, which was found abandoned at Bluebird Avenue and Doheny Drive.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office says that the girl was five feet and two inches tall with wavy black hair and weighing about 71 pounds (32kg), around 20 pounds (9kg).
Authorities discovered her wearing a tube top with black leggings, a yellow bracelet, and metal stud earrings.

She also had a tattoo on her right index finger that read 'Shhh...', though her body was wrapped in plastic and was locked in the trunk when police descended onto the scene.
It is estimated that her body was in the boot for five days, and, according to The New York Post, the remains were so decomposed that it wasn't fully intact.
Video footage captured by ABC has gone viral online, showing the scene, which has been cordoned off with yellow police tape surrounding the electric vehicle.
LAPD has confirmed that the discovery is being treated as a death investigation.
The US leg of D4vd's tour is scheduled to end on Saturday (20 September) in Los Angeles, with European dates set for October.
