A body has been discovered in the boot of an impounded Tesla allegedly registered to US singer D4vd.

According to ABC7, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call regarding a 'foul smell' coming from the boot of a vehicle impounded at a tow yard in Hollywood on Monday (8 September).

It's believed the vehicle had been at the property for a number of days.

When officers arrived to investigate the smell, they 'located possible human remains' which had allegedly been placed inside a bag and left in the car's front trunk.

Authorities have not released any information about the identity of the body.

The outlet also reported that the car is registered to the 20-year-old at an address in Hempstead, Texas.

Real name David Anthony Burke, D4vd started his music career in 2022 with singles such as 'Here with Me' and 'Romantic Homicide', becoming viral hits on social media.

His debut album, Withered, was released on 25 April, 2025, receiving positive reviews from critics.

The singer is currently on tour across the US to promote his album and was scheduled to perform in Minneapolis tonight (9 September). His US leg of the tour is expected to end in Los Angeles on 20 September, before picking up across Europe the following month.

He also performed at Coachella earlier this year and appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Video footage captured by ABC's AIR7 showed yellow police tape surrounding the vehicle in the lot, with a tow truck nearby.

LAPD has since confirmed that officers are treating the discovery as a death investigation. As per MailOnline, they added that Burke has not been arrested.

LADbible Group has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department and representatives of D4vd for comment.
