Donald Trump was spotted allegedly falling asleep as the US confirmed a billion dollar arms deal with the Saudi Arabia this afternoon.
The US president was in the Middle East for a briefing with Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, signing a historic economic partnership agreement, including a defence deal worth nearly $142 billion.
Following on from his 'Liberation Day' tariffs, the 78-year-old has been working closely on negotiations with other countries across the world in recent weeks, signing new deals with the UK and China.

And now, he has struck another deal with Bin Salman, which will see the US provide 'state-of-the-art war-fighting equipment' to Saudi Arabia, who will in turn invest $20bn (£15bn) in artificial intelligence in the US.

Following the agreement, Trump said: “It's an honour to be here. What a great place, what a great place, but more importantly, what great people.
“I want to thank His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, for that incredible introduction. He's an incredible man. Known him a long time now, there's nobody like him.
"Today we take the next steps to make our relationship closer, stronger and more powerful than ever before."

While it marks yet another important deal in US history, users on X, formerly known as Twitter, were quick to point out that the president wasn't looking his sharpest.
One user said: "In a stunning moment, Donald Trump just fell asleep at his briefing in Saudi Arabia. What a disaster."
Another pointed out: "In a surreal and frankly humiliating moment, Donald Trump just fell asleep during his own briefing in Saudi Arabia. This isn’t jet lag — it’s a walking security risk with a nap schedule.
"The man who calls himself 'sharp as ever' couldn’t even stay conscious."

A third said: "Trump is having a hard time keeping his eyes open in Saudi Arabia."

Some roared to the president's defence, pointing out that a flight from Washington to Riyadh takes over 12 hours, while the 40 degrees celsius weather in the Saudi Arabian capital will also likely have taken its toll.
But it is somewhat ironic that a man who spent much of the last four years calling his predecessor 'Sleepy Joe' has seemingly fallen asleep now he's at the wheel.
In his speech, the president concluded: "We are rocking, the United States is the hottest country - with the exception of your country - I have to say, right?

"From the moment we started we've seen wealth that has poured - and is pouring - into America."
