US President Donald Trump has gone on to have a lengthy talk about his wife’s underwear during an appearance at his political rally last week.
On Friday, 19 December, Trump turned up in Rocky Mount, N.C., to talk about lowering drug prices, when things began to migrate in an unexpected direction.
The 79-year-old, who is known for going off-script (like when he told nation leaders that their countries were going to Hell), began to talk about Melania’s ‘panties’.
The speech comes ahead of the 2026 midterm elections and included talk of inflation, too.

It was during this time that he spoke of an FBI raid of his Palm Beach, Florida, resort, Mar-a-Lago, in 2022.
The warrant came after an investigation into the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)’s claim that Trump had kept 15 boxes of documents that should have been handed over at the end of his first presidential term.

The FBI was allegedly looking for evidence to show that Trump had removed or destroyed any records, violated the Espionage Act or obstructed justice in any way, per People.
What they found contained 11 lots of classified documents, including some that are only supposed to be read while in secure government facilities.
It was there that officers allegedly found some delicate items that belonged to Melania.
Trump said of his ‘meticulous’ wife, whom he married in 2005: "They went into my wife's closet ... they looked at her drawers.”
He went on to say: “Her undergarments, sometimes referred to as panties, are folded perfect, wrapped. They're, like, so perfect."
"I think that she steams them," the POTUS added.
While they might have seen her underwear, they also found enough evidence for him to be indicted by a grand jury in 2023 for allegedly mishandling classified documents.

He was arrested and arraigned in the US District Court of South Florida, and entered a plea of not guilty before the case was dismissed in July 2024.
The speech came on the same day that a huge cache of Epstein files was released on Friday.
However, since then, some files appear to have vanished.
According to Democrats, the US Department of Justice removed at least 16 files from its website.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee also took to social media in search of answers.
The post read: "This photo, file 468, from the Epstein files that includes Donald Trump has apparently now been removed from the DOJ release. AG Bondi, is this true?
"What else is being covered up? We need transparency for the American public."
While the DOJ hasn’t responded to the allegations, it did post on X on Saturday (20 December): "Photos and other materials will continue being reviewed and redacted consistent with the law in an abundance of caution as we receive additional information."
