A DoorDash driver has broken down the surprising amount he earned after working for over 12 hours.
DoorDash is an American food and delivery service, allowing people to order food and other items straight to their door.
Spencer, who shared his story over on his TikTok account - @spencerjoycesworld - explained he had accepted every order since 8am, before finishing his shift after 9pm and taking two short breaks.
But despite working almost solidly, he didn't earn as much as you might expect.

He explained: "I just accepted every single DoorDash order for 12 hours straight.
"It started around 8am and ended around 9.15pm.
"On a Monday, in the Virginia Beach area, I was dashing for about 12 hours and 10 minutes. I was active for nine hours and 56 minutes, I put 221 miles on my 2009 Subaru Forester."

Spencer added: "My earnings before taxes, wear and tear, gas, insurance etcetera was $215.

"My biggest tip was $14.25 from a food line grocery order, and my smallest tip was $3 from a Starbucks order.
"I took 30 minute breaks between 10.30 and 11am and 3.45pm and 4.15pm.
"I'm tired as hell and my car needs a tune up badly now."

People were blown away by the video, with many shocked at how little Spencer had earned after such a gruelling shift.

One person wrote: "Working this much for $215 is insane."
While another said: "Please tell me that 215 isn't counting tips."
And a third added: "$215 for 221 miles and 12 hours is NOT profitable. At all."
Others claimed Spencer may have even lost money, with one adding: "So what you’re saying is you lost money? Because wearing tear on your car, i.e. oil changes, tires, brakes, shocks struts, gas, insurance is well over $215.
"And if you’re doing this as a business, i.e. DoorDash unique commercial insurance, which is usually about $1200 a month. If you don’t have commercial insurance, the moment you get in a car wreck, your insurance won’t cover you. You’ll be left high and dry and you’ll have to pay for everything out of pocket."

Another DoorDash driver explained they believe it all comes down to the area, explaining they live in Hawaii, where there are naturally a lot of tourists.
"I appreciate the transparency. I am super lucky to live in a really touristy area (Hawaii) and make that on a weekend in about 6-8 hours," they said.
"I usually pull about $100 in 4 hours on a weekday, but shoot for a minimum $150. Weekend goal is $200 per day, Fri-Sun. I definitely have some slower days but don't ever take every order. Way too many cheapos who dont want to tip.
"My acceptance rate is low but it doesn't impact my order offers. I really think its all about where you life and less touristy areas are probably harder to work."
