Relatives of Renee Nicole Good have shared a poignant statement about the 'unimaginable loss' they have endured after the mother-of-three was killed.
The 37-year-old was shot dead by ICE agent Jonathan Ross last Wednesday (7 January) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, sparking outrage across the US.
The Trump administration has described the victim as a 'domestic terrorist', alleging that Good attempted to 'weaponise' her vehicle to attack federal agents carrying out raids in the area.
Vice President JD Vance also defended Ross' actions, claiming: "The reality is that his life was endangered and he fired in self-defence."

A host of other political figures starkly disagree with this characterisation of the incident, including Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey, who branded it 'bulls**t'.
Good's grieving wife Becca released a statement over the weekend, which thanked people from across the globe for their support while paying tribute to the late mum.

Describing her as 'pure love', 'pure joy', and 'pure sunshine', Good's spouse said she wanted her wife's legacy to be one of 'kindness and love'.
"We honour her memory by living her values: rejecting hate and choosing compassion, turning away from fear and pursuing peace, refusing division and knowing we must come together to build a world where we all come home safe to the people we love," the statement read in part.

Members of Good's extended family have now spoken out about the shooting, which has sent shockwaves across the world while sharing a similar sentiment as Becca.
The emotive statement has been shared by relatives of Good's late husband Timmy Macklin Jr, who is the father of her youngest son. He died at the age of 36 in 2023.
Macklin's parents and siblings crafted the statement in collaboration with Good's mother, Donna Ganger, according to The Guardian.

It described the award-winning poet as an 'extraordinary mother' who was 'devoted, fiercely loving, and always putting her children at the centre of the world'.

It continued: "She was full of heart and never defined by malice. We know Renee would be there too, cheering on those who fight for justice and standing with the people, causes, and community she loved.
"We hope this inspires accountability, compassion, and meaningful change."
The family urged people to have 'humanity, empathy, and care for the family most affected' by the incident.
The statement said that they hoped Good's death would enact meaningful change which means others won't 'have to endure this kind of pain'.
The victim's sister-in-law, Jessica Fletcher, drafted the statement and explained that the family had made a point of speaking with 'care, clarity and love'.

"There’s been so much hateful rhetoric back and forth, and what’s been missed is painting a picture of who Renee was," Fletcher said.

"I don’t want to open it up into this huge fight with the opposing side. That would just be pouring more gasoline on the fire. But not saying something is political too."
Fletcher went on to say her late brother would have been 'absolutely devastated' by his former wife's death, while saying of their previous relationship: "Raising their child together and building a life with her made these years truly the best he ever had."
The family asked people to give Good's three children 'privacy, protection, and care as they begin to navigate life without their mother'.

Good's former mother-in-law Charlene Fletcher also paid tribute to her, saying: "It feels deeply wrong that Renee died in this way.
"She had a beautiful voice that everyone should have had the chance to hear. The last thing Renee would have wanted was violence carried out in her name."
