A social media star has been left heartbroken after his two-year-old daughter died after drowning in the family pool.
Jamal Morton, 33, works as an influencer on social media, posting humorous parenting videos to his millions of followers on Instagram and TikTok.
However, his content took a tragic turn earlier this week when he updated followers to confirm that his toddler Rose had drowned in the backyard pool of their Georgia home.
In an emotional post, he wrote: “I lost my daughter. She thought she was a big girl and could swim all by herself. She walked out of the house and got into the pool where she drowned.”

After fans rushed to pay tribute to the family, Morton added a second heartbreaking message.
He wrote: “I hope heaven is real because I can’t imagine you being all alone by yourself.
“So God, if you’re real, please watch over my baby. Rest in Peace, my sweet angel. Daddy loves you forever, Rose.”

He also updated fans to confirm that he would be taking a break from social media, with he and his family understandably rocked by the loss of the two-year-old.
“Losing a child is a pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy,” he wrote on Facebook late Monday night.
“I hate to make this post but y'all won’t be seeing me for a while. I have to take a break.”
Although their house has been a central part to their content, the family's grief means that they're now looking for a new home, with a GoFundMe making it clear that they're looking to move away from Georgia following the tragedy.
“We have to move away because we can’t live in that house anymore, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to work anytime soon. Anything helps,” he wrote.

It is unclear at this point what circumstances led to Rose's death, or if the police could be involved, should parental negligence be determined to have contributed to the child’s death.
Georgia law makes it clear that prosecutors can pursue criminal charges should Jamal or his wife Jessica be deemed to have been negligent before Rose drowned.
Rose was a regular feature alongside the couple's eight other children in the family-focused content, which has helped him build a significant audience since launching the TikTok account back in 2022.
His management team later posted: “Management is keeping his platforms running while he and his family take time to grieve the heartbreaking loss of their baby girl.
“This is an incredibly difficult time, and we ask for your understanding, prayers, and respect for their privacy as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”
Authorities are yet to confirm any further details regarding Rose's death.
