Trump claims Democrats should be named in the Epstein files to 'embarrass them'

The US President's quotes come after the DOJ released new information regarding the disgraced financier

President Donald Trump has demanded that the US Justice Department (DOJ) make an example and ‘embarrass’ Democrats whose names may appear in the Epstein files.

A US law was passed on November 19, requiring the DOJ to publish files covering more than two decades of investigations into disgraced American financier, Jeffrey Epstein.

The convicted child sex offender was 66 years old when he took his own life whilst awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

He was behind bars, with Barbara Sampson, the New York City medical examiner at the time, ruling that his 2019 death was suicide by hanging.

Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act - signed in by Trump - hundreds of documents were shared online by the DOJ.

In view of the Congressional deadline, all reasonable efforts had been made to ‘review and redact personal information pertaining to victims, other private individuals, and protect sensitive materials from disclosure’, the governmental department confirmed.

The latest legal document trove featured a file labelled ‘DOJ Disclosures’, containing images seized by the FBI during various searches of Epstein’s homes in New York City and the US Virgin Islands.

The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross were all present in the newly-released photographs, however, none of them have been accused of any wrongdoing.

The US President has now weighed in on the new Epstein tranche, remarking that he wants to see more names released by the DOJ.

“Now 1,000,000 more pages on Epstein are found,” he wrote via his social media site, Truth Social.

“DOJ is being forced to spend all of its time on this Democrat inspired Hoax. When do they say NO MORE, and work on Election Fraud etc.”

He alleged his opposition were ‘the ones who worked with Epstein’, not the Republicans, adding: “Release all of their names, embarrass them, and get back to helping our Country.

“The Radical Left doesn’t want people talking about TRUMP & REPUBLICAN SUCCESS, only a long ago dead Jeffrey Epstein – Just another Witch Hunt!!!”

The 79-year-old’s claims come just weeks after he requested an investigation into the deceased businessman’s links to Democrats, such as Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, and J.P. Morgan Chase.

"This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats,” he alleged.

“Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his 'Island'. Stay tuned!!!”

Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed she’d requested Jay Clayton, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, to lead the investigation, as per CBS News.

In July, the DOJ said they’d conducted an ‘exhaustive review’ of material related to Epstein.

A spokesperson admitted that no evidence ‘that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties’ was discovered.

The department denied that the fabled Epstein ‘client list’ existed, whilst also confirming that no ‘credible evidence’ of blackmail could be found.

The DOJ has received backlash for failing to release all of the documents related to the case by the December 19 deadline.

In a statement, posted in full via CBS reporter Scott MacFarlane, Epstein survivors said the legal trove was ‘riddled with abnormal and extreme redactions with no explanation'.

The statement also called out the lack of ability to search within the released files, alleging plans to ‘keep survivors and the public in the dark as much as possible and as long as possible’.
