Thomas Markle Sr. has been arrested on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material.
According to a report from the BBC and CBS News, the Duchess of Sussex's father was apprehended by FBI agents at a senior living facility in Florida.
The case currently remains under seal, according to both outlets.
Markle Sr. has previously denied all allegations of child abuse, referring to them as 'sick lies'.

The Duchess of Sussex, who's been estranged from her father since her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, has not commented on the arrest. However, the 45-year-old previously spoke of her deep 'distress' in relation to allegations about her father.

"I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children, was for one reason: to protect them. I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families," Meghan previously said in a statement issued to LADbible via her representatives.
“Although the breadth of what has now been uncovered is more sickening than one could ever imagine, my sincerest hope is that justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection of innocent children."
It's understood that Markle Sr last reached out to Meghan after having his leg amputated in the Philippines last year, pleading with her to contact him.
LADbible Group has approached the FBI and representatives of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, for comment.
