People are sharing footage of a 17-year-old girl delivering a eulogy for her mum and stepdad after she was charged with killing them.

Georgia resident Sarah Grace Patrick was arrested and charged on suspicion of murdering her mother Kristin Brock, 41, and her stepfather James Brock, 45.

Carroll County Sheriff's Office confirmed in a statement that the 17-year-old voluntarily turned herself over to law enforcement regarding the deaths of Kristin and James, which occurred on 20 February this year.

The Sheriff's Office said that the two of them had died of 'apparent gunshot wounds' and their bodies had been found in their bedroom, and said the charges for the 17-year-old followed 'mountains of physical and digital evidence' as well as 'countless interviews'.

They said in a statement: "From the very moment the 911 call was received, a relentless investigation began, one that would span months, consume thousands of hours, and require the full weight of local and federal law enforcement partnerships."

Carroll County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ashley Hulsey said that the 17-year-old had been charged as an adult and they were still working out what her motive might have been.

"We don't know what goes through the mind of a child that wants to harm her parents," she said, before adding that 'additional arrests are possible' in this 'very horrific and sad case'.

The 17-year-old was the one to call the police after her six-year-old sister discovered the bodies.

Footage of Sarah Grace Patrick delivering a eulogy while appearing tearful has been shared online, with her telling a crowd she 'never once thought to imagine y'all not being here'.

She also said she didn't 'have a single clue how much I needed y'all until now', but some of the relatives of the shooting victims disputed that her tears were genuine.

James Brock's niece Krysten Dowda told the Daily Mail she wasn't surprised at the arrest, as she said the 17-year-old 'fake cried at the funeral'.

She claimed she first started getting suspicious after Patrick started sharing details on social media and Dowda felt 'the pieces just weren't making sense.

Among the alleged details was that Patrick didn't hear anything unusual, apart from James Brock's alarm for heart medication when James and Kristin Brock died from 'apparent gunshot wounds' in the house.

She said: "She reached out to everyone in her life and on the internet and her story changed. The main thing... how do you not hear multiple gunshots in a small house?"
