There has been an incredible update in a missing persons case after a little boy vanished two years ago.

At three-years-old, Steven Bryan was reported missing from Mooresville, Indiana, US, in June 2022 according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

A Silver Alert was issued for the little boy, his mum, Deborah Bryan, 31, and her boyfriend Caleb Blevins. It was suspected Steven was with her.

But authorities have revealed the young lad, now five years old, has been found safe.

Steven was located on Tuesday (9 July) at a place in Bloomington, Indiana alongside his mum and Caleb.

It is alleged that Deborah took her son from home and cut off contact with his dad, Tyler Bryan.

She was reportedly arrested on a charge of interfering with custody and it is said Blevins has currently not been charged.

WIBC reported that Mooresville Police Chief, Kerry Buckner, assured that Steven ‘is fine’.

“Mom was just hiding him out because of some sort of custody battle with his real father,” he added.

The little lad was then taken into protective custody and is set to be released to the Department of Child Services during the investigation.

Buckner added that they had given Deborah ‘ample opportunity’ to let the police know that her son was ‘okay’.

“We agreed to do a Zoom meeting or whatever was convenient to make sure Steven was okay. We also wanted to make sure Caleb was okay, but Caleb’s mother and ex-wife were also concerned about his well-being,” Buckner explained. “One of my detectives believes that the individual who owns this residence is in some way related to Deborah Bryan.”

In January, Steven’s dad told PEOPLE of his concerns for the little boy, highlighting that he apparently has a speech impediment.

“He couldn’t really speak; I don’t know if that’s gotten better,” Tyler said.

According to court documents, the dad reported Steven missing in July 2022. Deborah allegedly left the area with both Blevins and her son, with her bank account closed and both the adults’ phones reportedly deactivated.

The investigation is ongoing as Buckner added: “Now that we know the child is okay, we’re going to investigate to see who helped them out.”
