Donald Trump says he'll run for president again while making savage swipe during White House dinner
Donald Trump joked about the possibility he might run for president again at the White House Correspondent's Dinner.
It's an event where the media who cover US politics get invited to dine at the White House in celebration of press freedom, this year is the first time Trump has attended the event.
It initially went ahead in April, but that dinner was called off because an armed suspect was arrested as they appeared to attempt to storm the building, with Trump being rushed off stage by security.
Cole Tomas Allen has pleaded not guilty to various charges, including attempted assassination of the president.

Describing it as a 'hell of an evening' during his remarks to those in attendance for the second attempt, Trump said: "As I said three months ago, the show must go on.
"But just like my presidency, the second time is always better. It’s always better, and the third time will be better yet. I’m only kidding."
It's a joke only some will find funny, and far from the first time Trump has suggested he might attempt to run for president a fourth time in his efforts to secure a third term in the White House.
While at the dinner he donned a 'Trump 2028' hat, which he later threw into the crowd.
In the past he's referenced running for a third term and insisted he's 'not joking', then backtracked on those remarks, and has released 'Trump 2028' hats as merchandise so it's an idea he's spoken about several times.
If you don't want people to think you're considering running for a third term then maybe stop bringing it up, Donald.
Technically he's not allowed to do so, since US presidents are now only permitted to do two terms in office, and there are methods he could use to attempt such a thing.
To actually accomplish it he'd need the support of several major figures in American politics, and for his party and the Supreme Court to basically let him have his way.
He could attempt to run in 2028 as JD Vance's vice president and then have them swap jobs in office if they won the election, or even stay off the ticket for a VP who would resign to let Trump in, then have Vance resign too.
He might also try changing the constitution, but that would be incredibly difficult to do.
At the White House Correspondent's Dinner he also made jokes about how his health secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr 'personally ran over the cow in his car' for the beef they were eating, a reference to Kennedy's admission that he collected roadkill and kept the meat in a freezer.
Trump also took aim at the 'fake news media' who'd been invited to dinner, saying they were 'the largest group of Trump derangement syndrome people ever put together at one time'.
Journalists got rewards for reporting critical of Trump's presidency including stories he'd threatened them with legal action over.
He also said: “When I’m gone, you’re all going to be broke. Your business model is going to be finished.
“When I’m not around, you’re going to be broke. There’s not going to be anybody to report on. Nobody gives a damn about anybody else.”
