Donald Trump doesn't appear to be taking the Republicans defeat in the midterm elections very well.
Although he offered his congratulations to the Democrats after a so-called 'blue tsunami' swept the country, the US President obviously isn't best pleased with the result.
Trump, 80, reckons that the situation with Iran has a lot to do with it - and has now warned that the nation he is warring with could soon be on the receiving end of a 'heavy hit'.
The Democrats secured a series of impressive defeats against their opposition, winning Senate seats in the former Republican strongholds of Texas, Kansas, South Carolina, Ohio, Maine and Iowa.

To rub even more salt in the wound, they have also regained control of the House of Representatives for the first time since 2023 after flipping numerous seats in states including Kentucky, New Jersey, Indiana and North Carolina.

Given that Trump had previously urged people to pretend that his name was on the voting slip, it appears he is taking this loss personally.
The commander-in-chief shared a Truth Social post suggesting that his party would have had much greater success if he was actually up for re-election.
"I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE," Trump wrote. "Thank you for your attention to this matter."
His critics reckon that this result was somewhat inevitable, as the cost of living, relentless tariffs, soaring energy prices and the Iran war have bred discontent across America.
Trump addressed what he thought hindered the Republicans while dialling into Fox News to share his reaction to the midterm results, while saying that the Democrats had done 'a good job' and 'worked very hard'.
What Trump thinks went wrong
He said that he was expecting his party to 'do better', while suggesting the loss was down to there being some sort of 'mood in the air'.
"They just didn’t inspire the people to get out and vote," the president said. "And I wasn’t on the ballot. If I was on the ballot, they would have got out."
Trump told Fox News that he was a 'little bit surprised' by the results, especially after the 'tremendous rallies' they had thrown.
"But I don’t view it as a hit on me," he went on to say. "We’ve had the greatest two years in the history of the presidency in terms of the economy, in terms of all the things that we’ve done."

Despite this remark, he did acknowledge that the ridiculous rise in fuel prices has likely contributed to the Republican's defeat.
He suggested voters 'probably weren't willing to do the short-term consequence of paying more for gasoline', but said he 'understands that'.
Trump noted that people 'didn't like it' when they began having to fork out more for gas due to the conflict with Iran, as conversation then turned to previous reports suggesting a US strike was imminent.
"We have to do something large," he said, while hinting that this would involve a 'heavy hit'. He then ominously added: "They will never have a nuclear weapon."
Last month, CNN reported they were putting together plans to launch the 'mother of all bombs' to hit Iranian nuclear sites and energy infrastructure.
