Firefighter Administers CPR On Baby While Climbing Down Ladder

Incredible footage has resurfaced on social media showing a firefighter administering CPR on a baby while climbing down a ladder. Watch below:

In May 2002, Bob Swick and Scott Lewis were part of the crew that responded to a fire at a property on Hebble Avenue in Fairborn, Ohio.

Rushing into the building, Swick desperately searched the building for baby Chelsea while her mother stood outside.

Fearful that they may be running out of time, Lewis raced up the ladder, and as he approached the window, Swick appeared from a plume of smoke and passed Chelsea into his arms.

Seemingly lifeless, Lewis immediately ripped off his mask and began administering CPR to the child as he climbed backwards down the ladder.

According to a Fairborn Fire Department History post, Chelsea was rushed to hospital for treatment, and was released a week later.

Commenting on the original post, one user wrote: "That was incredibly hard to see. I'm so glad she survived."

Another said: "God bless thank God we have men and women that run towards danger to save us."

"Excellent Bob Swick & Scott Lewis for a little life saved!! Whoohoo!!" praised a third.

While another added: "Now this is what call a real hero! The skills the heart the strength! Firefighters are in a class of their own. My respects to all the firefighters!!"

Fellow firefighter Marc Hadden actually adopted a baby girl two days after helping deliver her and saving his mother's life.

Marc, from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, delivered Rebecca Grace on 14 November 2011 after the girl's mother - a single mum - called the emergency services complaining of abdominal pain.

Amazingly, he ended up taking her home as her father two days later after the birth mother made it clear she couldn't care for her daughter.

"She struggled from the minute she was put in my hands," Marc, 48, told People magazine. "It was amazing to hear her cry."

Although Grace has now spent the first six years of her life a firm part of the Hadden family, her mum and dad have made sure that she never forgets the story behind how they came to be her parents.

"We told her pretty much from day one," says Marc. "I've taken her to the back of the ambulance where she was born, so she knows - no doubt about it."

And Marc and his wife Beth are still amazed by their luck in being able to welcome Gracie into their lives.

"I've always wanted a daughter, and this is just amazing," said Marc.
