Just when you thought the news was surely gonna slow down for a bit, the Night King from Game of Thrones only goes and claims victory in the Battle of Winterfell.

The actor who plays the fearsome leader of the White Walkers, Vladimir Furdik, took to Twitter to boast about the big win.

He said: "I WON THE BATTLE OF WINTERFELL, BY A LOT!"

The Slovakian actor is of course mocking Donald Trump, who has refused to accept defeat in the US presidential election.

Trump - who will be replaced by Democratic candidate Joe Biden in January - is yet to concede, instead opting to continuously share unsubstantiated claims that the race was fraudulently stolen from him.

In case you've somehow managed not to watch Game of Thrones and the joke is lost on you, basically the Night King did not win the Battle of Winterfell; rather, he was decisively slain by Arya Stark, who plunged a dagger in his chest, causing him to shatter into a billion tiny pieces.

As such, Vladimir is essentially comparing the US election to the Battle of Winterfell, with Biden represented by Arya, and his character represented by Trump.

The key difference is, while the Night King was unable to contest his defeat - due to the fact he was literally shattered to pieces - Trump still has his Twitter account and a team of lawyers tasked with fighting the result of the election to the bitter end.

I suppose if the Night King shared Trump's unwillingness to accept defeat, he probably would have tried to claim that Arya's stabbing shouldn't count because she sneaked up from behind.

However, as mentioned, it is difficult to contest a defeat when said defeat causes you to instantly shatter to pieces.

But while the Night King (Trump) may not have accepted the result yet, Arya (Biden) has already begun making plans for when she (he) takes the throne (presidency).

Biden said in his victory speech: "For all those of you who voted for President Trump, I understand the disappointment tonight.

"I've lost a couple of times myself. But now, let's give each other a chance.

"It's time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again, listen to each other again. And to make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as our enemies.

"They are not our enemies. They are Americans."
