Priest Accidentally Plays Rap Music During Live Stream Mass

A priest in Ireland gave his congregation a bit of a shock after he accidentally blasted rap music at the beginning of mass.

Father Pat, from Kincasslagh Parish, was taking part in a live-stream at the empty church in Donegal when he accidentally started playing a track by Black the Ripper over the sound system.

The priest had just begun his blessing when the music came blaring out - I'm sure all the parishioners watching along at home enjoyed it.

The music prompted Father Pat to spring into action as he attempted to quiet it before he continued.

Fortunately, the priest saw the funny side of the mix up, as he joked: "Black the Ripper, a wee bit of rap in the morning wakes you up."

Before adding: "I hope that didn't do anybody's blood pressure any difficulty."

The church has also seemingly saw the funny side, posting a photo of Black the Ripper on its official Facebook page alongside the caption: "Please stand for our opening hymn..." and several laughing emojis.

And those who were sitting at home watching the mass live also got a laugh out of it.

Posting on Facebook, one person wrote: "Oh my God it was brilliant Father Pat! If we weren't awake at that point well we surely were after that rap!! Ha!"

While another said: "You really couldn't make it up. Something for everyone at Fr Pat's Mass."

A third wrote: "I am aching with laughing... startled... thought I had got the wrong venue for a second this morning."

Father Pat is not the first person to come a cropper thanks to technology.

Last month, a lawyer in the US ended up speaking during a live court hearing behind a cat filter.

Rod Ponton virtually arrived to court in the 394th district of Texas and hopped onto his assistant's computer - but the Zoom was set up with a cat filter.

Despite his best efforts, poor Ponton couldn't get the filter off.

Hon. Judge Roy B. Ferguson said during the court hearing: "Mr. Ponton I believe you have a filter turned on in your video settings."

Ponton said: "Can you hear me judge?"

Judge Ferguson replied: "I can hear you. I think it's a filter."

Ponton quipped back to the judge: "It is and I don't know how to remove it. I've got my assistant here and she's trying to remove it but uh...I'm prepared to go forward with it. I'm here live. I'm not a cat."

Good to know.
