A woman spotted a bizarre-looking fish that looked like it had a human face on its head.

In footage filmed in Miao Village in Kunming, China, the fish can be seen swimming up towards the shoreline with markings on its head that look like eyes and a nose.

Although you and I can see that it's just some unusual spots on its bonce, the woman who saw it and decided to whip out her camera could be heard exclaiming: "The fish has turned into a fairy." No, love, it has not.

Now the footage has appeared online, not everyone seems to be as enamoured with the fish as the lady who first spotted it with one person saying: "This is scary." And other asking: "Who dares eat it?" Baggsy not me, pal.

It's thought the fish is a koi carp, which have markings similar to those seen in the clip.

And if that glimpse of an odd-looking fish has whet your appetite for more weird-looking sea creatures, then feast your eyes on this beauty that washed up on a on St Simon's Island in Georgia, US.

Maleah Burrows, 31, was out for a walk when she saw the toothy fish.

She explained: "We were just walking along the beach and it was washed up far from the shoreline and caught our attention.

"I originally just thought it was a plain old fish - nothing exciting, but I still wanted to show my three-year-old.

"Then as we got closer, I saw all the teeth and I was shocked because I'd never seen anything like it!"

Describing the little fella, she continued: "It had an entire mouthful of teeth - they weren't pointy but blunt like an animal's. Behind its first row of teeth were buds that filled up its entire mouth.

"I'm not sure what they were, but I'm guessing more teeth."

The fish is reported to be a sheepshead which can grow up to 75cm long and usually sport a full set of nashers like this chap, which they use to crush shrimp, crabs and mussels.

Delicious.
