A pilot was captured ‘shouting’ at passengers over a plane’s tannoy after their flight was delayed for SEVEN long hours.

Watch the moment below:

The Wizz Air flight was due to take off from London Gatwick Airport to Larnaca in Cyprus on Tuesday (May 25), but was reportedly left on the runway due to a significant delay.

And tempers were understandably fray onboard as Hannah Mace, a passenger on the flight, documented the pilot giving them stern telling off after other passengers asked to 'get off the plane'.

The holidaymaker took to TikTok to share the moment, which has been viewed more than 1.8 million times, and saw several passengers standing in the aisles chatting before the pilot gave them a stern talking to.

She wrote across the 31-second clip: “Delayed for 7 hours whilst we're stuck in the plane… So the pilot starts shouting at us”.

A passenger looked gobsmacked as the pilot told them off.

The pilot can be heard over the tannoy sternly telling the passengers: "Show of hands please, who wants to get off? We won't be going tonight if you get off.

"You know, I don't need this, the crew doesn't need this. We are doing what we can to get you out of here.

"It's out of my control. Completely out of my control,” he continued.

"We're doing everything we can. If you want to get off, I'll let you get off, no problem."

Hannah’s travel companion is then seen on screen giggling with her hand over her mouth and says: "He told us off."

Captioning the video, Hannah cheekily wrote: “Ryan air would never”.

Although being stuck on a plane for seven hours isn’t ideal, many in Hannah’s comments empathised with the pilot and insisted he was only trying to do his job.

One commented: "He's got a point though, they can't do much it's all down to ground control. He's probably thinking he won't be getting home for tea tonight."

"There's only so much aggro you can take from entitled customers, they are humans too," another said.

A third wrote: “Oh bless him though!! You can hear the pain in his voice! He wanted to get going as much as every1 else, must b hard to have every1 moaning at you!” (sic).

“To be fair, I’m on his side!! He’s probably extremely stressed and the crew are exhausted!!” a fourth shared.

Echoing their statements, a TikTok user added: “Completely agree with this pilot put in a position outside of his control but expected to manage it which he can't but still trying to do his best”.

A Wizz Air spokesperson told LADbible: "Wizz Air sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused by the delayed flight W95749, from Gatwick to Larnaca.

"This was initially a result of a late inbound aircraft, with further delays caused by Air Traffic Control issues at London Gatwick.

"Wizz Air has contacted affected customers directly to inform them about their rights."
