A Leeds woman took Deliveroo to court after her burger and chips were delivered three hours late.

Fae Holliday, 27, refused to accept the £37.50 meal when it eventually arrived on her doorstop and subsequently won a payout from the delivery app.

Fae had ordered a ‘baconator’ with fries and it was estimated that her dinner would arrive in 30 minutes, but the factory manager ended up going to sleep on an empty stomach.

She raised the issue via the app’s complaints section but said it was like ‘talking to a robot’.

According to The Sun, Deliveroo ended up charging Fae the full price for her meal and simply ‘thanked her for her feedback’.

Having absolutely none of it, Fae ended up taking Deliveroo to court and was handed £75 in compensation after representatives for the app failed to provide any evidence.

Fae explained: “I took a stand and I’m so pleased I won — not just for me, but for other people.

"I tried to get a refund from Deliveroo but it was like talking to a robot. I spent an hour arguing with them so I decided to give them a headache.”

She added: "If I’d lost, I’d have faced some hefty fees.”

Deliveroo apologised in a statement to LADbible, saying: "We were sorry to hear of Ms Holliday's experience but are pleased to have reached a resolution and the claim has been settled."

It’s not been a great few weeks for Deliveroo, with the app also making headlines last month after it was revealed one of the company’s drivers was sacked after he shared a video of himself humiliating a customer over their order.

The man was slammed by people after filming himself handing over a Boots order to a woman and posting the footage to social media.

In the 30-second video, which was shared to Instagram, the driver was seen giving the customer a bag containing anti-fungal cream Canesten, which is used to treat conditions such as vaginal infections, like thrush.

Making light of the purchase, the Deliveroo driver said: "Someone's got some problems downstairs, man."

Following the incident, Deliveroo swiftly issued an apology to the woman and confirmed the man was no longer employed by them.

In a statement to Twitter, Deliveroo said: "Rest assured we will be reaching out to the customer, investigating immediately and will no longer work with this rider."
