After Louis Theroux's latest documentary dropped on Netflix more people around the world have been introduced to the concept of the manosphere.
The legendary documentary maker visited some of the world's most toxic content creators to speak about their controversial views, many of which focus on misogyny and misinformation.
Some of those featured in the documentary have already been quick to fire back at Theroux, with HSTikkyTokky (Harrison Sullivan) and Myron Gaines (Amrou Fudl) both somewhat embarrassed when coming up against someone far too intelligent to fall for their inconsistent ideologies.
However, there is no doubting these men's financial success and a lot of that comes from the growing male audience that they have across the world, many of whom have come to be known as 'incels'.

An incel, or involuntary celibate, is someone who has grown to hate women because of their inability to find a romantic or sexual partner, usually because of their own shortcomings, lack of confidence and misogyny.
It's rare to find anyone who is willing to speak openly about being an incel but back in 2019, one young man came forward to answer questions in a Jubilee video about his baffling beliefs.
Although some went straight to the point about who might have hurt him or why he hates women, one man asked what the pivotal moment was that saw him essentially join the manosphere.
He replied:"You know, this constant years of rejection, no matter who the person was, constant years of rejection in other aspects of my life,
"It did kind of push me towards more, I suppose, radical beliefs. But I suppose they're only like radical, but they're more just old beliefs really.
"No, it sounds like, I had another metaphor, like death by a thousand cuts, you know, it's not one pivotal moment, but it sounds like a bunch of things built up over time."
He also suggests that 'most of the men are not inherently bad people' and that a lot of them are just 'lonely' and 'need help', which is perhaps the most common reason why some men find themselves sucked into the toxic world of the manosphere.

However, considering he admits his love for his mother in the video, he should also take responsibility for stepping back from the manosphere when help with dating and improving yourself soon switches into promoting hate and violence against women.
The topic of incels is a hot one right now after Theroux shined the light on the controversial content creators, but it was also explored brilliantly in the Netflix drama Adolescence, which highlights exactly how things can progress when young boys and men come across this sort of way of thinking.
