A man has died after completing the world's highest bungee jump in China.

The 56-year-old man was rushed to hospital after leaping from the top of the Macau Tower yesterday (3 December).

According to reports, the Japanese tourist completed his 233m (764ft) jump at about 4.30pm local time.

Officials stated that the man began suffering from shortness of breath and eventually fell unconscious.

Local reports said the man had no external injuries.

He was then taken to Conde S. Januario Hospital, where he underwent emergency treatment.

Sadly, however, the holidaymaker was pronounced dead.

Skypark by AJ Hackett, which operates the bungee jump, states on its website that all participants must disclose any underlying health conditions before taking part.
