People are concerned for tourist who nearly soaked Kim Jong-Un going down waterslide

The Supreme Leader was sat right in the splash zone

Kim Jong-Un really should have worn his pac-a-mac to the opening of North Korea's new coastal tourist area, given he was plonked right in the splash zone.

The Supreme Leader, 41, would have probably been better off sporting a pair of Speedos rather than a two-piece suit while attending the launch of Wonsan Kalma.

North Korea say the country is ushering in a 'new era of tourism', which is being kicked off with the opening of the 'world-class cultural resort'. And Kim looked like he was having a whale of a time while attending the inaugural ceremony to mark the inception of Wonsan Kalma.

The beach resort, which can accommodate up to 20,000 guests, according to the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), is set to open its doors to domestic tourists on 1 July, but Kim obviously received early access.

According to reports, the red carpet was rolled out for Kim, and he even got to see how some of the stomach-churning water slides worked while he was there, too.

One brave bloke was pictured whizzing down one of the towering attractions while Kim, his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, and wife, Ri Sol Ju, watched on from spectating chairs.

Since seeing the snaps of this moment, social media users have raised concerns for the fella who threw himself down the flume due to the huge splash he made when he eventually hit the water.

Comical images captured the moment a wave of water rose from the pool after the water slider ran out of the road, causing Kim's daughter to flinch and turn away.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Leader was seen following the man's movements with his finger as he careered towards the water before he appeared to become quite amused by the huge impact.

I guess he's feeling more Kim Jong-Fun rather than Jong-Un at the minute, eh?

Even though Kim seemingly took his light-drenching on the chin, Reddit users have been speculating about the potential consequences the water slider could face for splashing the Supreme Leader.

One person asked: "What if that dude in the first pic splashed water?"

Meanwhile, another asked what would happen if 'the water gets in his drink', to which someone else replied: "It's his pack of cigarettes I'd be more worried about."

A fourth claimed he was watching 'to make sure the guy isn't having too much fun'.

Wonsan Kalma now dominates 2.5 miles of coastline - while it's littered with houses, hotels and hostels.

As well as the water park, other attractions include 'sea-bathing service facilities, various sports and recreation facilities', while there are also 'commercial and public catering facilities fully equipped with all conditions... for providing the beauty of the scenic spot on the east coast in all seasons,' KCNA said.

It's unclear when visitors from across the world will be able to check Wonsan Kalma out, but Russian tour specialist Vostok Intur is set to visit the place during its inaugural weeklong trip to the country.
