Photo of six friends having selfie together leaves people creeped out after spotting a seventh face

At first glance it seems like a normal photo of six friends just enjoying a day out together, until you see it.

The picture was circulated on social media, including the r/whenyouseeit thread on Reddit, and shows the six people posing together on a hike - except there is also a seventh face visible for the eagle-eyed.

It was captioned as a 'group of friends in Chile', with the group smiling and enjoying their day out together, surrounded by the great outdoors and with other hikers also out and about.

But when you look closer at one particular part of the picture, a spooky, ghoulish looking face appears in a place that you really would not expect to see it, revealing that there may not be six people posing at all, but actually seven.

A seventh person hidden?

With this one, you have got to be a serious sniper to spot them, but if you look closely they very much are there.

There happens to be another person in between the two women on the left. Apologies if you just had kittens, but I did sort of warn you about this earlier.

'I got goosebumps'

After noticing the extra person, social media users were utterly horrified, as one person commented: "I am not exaggerating when I say that when I finally saw it, I got goosebumps and felt genuine fear. What the f**k. I believe in ghosts again now."

Another penned: "My dumba** was looking at the red thing in the bottom left corner. I was like uhhh looks like someone was just cut out the pic… then BOOM, I saw it. Runs to hide under the covers."

Rather, a third person thought: "It's just a person that's also in the group with their face being hidden in shadow by the two around it, and made to look creepy with that intense blue filter.

"You can even see the top of the person's head and hair illuminated normally by the daylight."

Doctored photo? Unlikely

Another Redditor said: "It gave me chills, for sure. Usually I just laugh these things off, or assume the photo is doctored in a way I can’t really detect, but not this time.

"And once you see it, you can’t try to make it be something else, like the way the guy’s jacket is bunched up, or a combination of that and part of the hair from one of the girls.

"Nothing else fits. It’s very clearly something/someone that doesn’t belong there."
