Vladimir Putin’s forces have launched yet another horror attack.
Following on from Boxing Day’s hit on Ukraine, NATO fighter jets were reportedly scrambled again as 11 people were wounded in the early hours of this morning (27 December).
Intensifying the fears of a ‘World War Three’, Putin’s latest attack on Kyiv with missiles and drones comes just a day before key talks are set to take place between Ukraine and the US.
Russia had rejected offers for a ‘Christmas truce’ over this period while President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had backed it, and suggested in particular that energy infrastructure could be spared.

However, Putin’s forces has continued to hit the country, not wanting to give Ukraine any ‘breathing space’. Tomorrow’s talks with Donald Trump are however set to be a further effort to end the nearly four-year-old war.

This latest attack saw explosions booming across Kyiv for hours with ballistic missiles and drones hitting the capital city. Local officials said it affected seven locations.
Two children were among those injured with a fire breaking out in an 18-storey residential building in Dnipro district.
Local officials also said that a 24-storey residential building in Darnytsia district was hit with more fires breaking out in the Obolonskyi and Holosiivsky districts.
According to Ukraine’s Emergency Service, the strikes hit industrial and residential buildings in the wider Kyiv region.
This Russian attack came just hours after Zelenskyy said he would meet with Trump in Florida and told journalists that the 20-point plan under discussion ‘is about 90 percent ready’.
He also said a ‘economic agreement’ will be discussed but was unable to confirm ‘whether anything will be finalised by the end’. He added that the Ukrainian side will be raising ‘territorial issues’.
Zelenskyy ‘would like the Europeans to be involved’ in the talks but doubted if this would be possible at short notice.

“We must, without doubt, find some format in the near future in which not only Ukraine and the US are present, but Europe is represented as well,” he said.
The US have been leading quite the push to end Russia’s war with Ukraine but efforts have run into sharply conflicting demands by Moscow and Kyiv.
And these talks come amid a string of attacks, as the Polish Armed Forces confirmed its fighter aircraft had ‘commenced operations’ as the strikers triggered military aviation to operate in the neighbouring airspace.
“These operations are preventative in nature and are aimed at securing and protecting airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to the threatened areas,” the statement from the Operational Command added.
