People Really Want David Attenborough To Be Prime Minister

It's not a bad shout.

A new poll ranking the celebs people most want to be politicians has confirmed what many of us know is true: David Attenborough should be our Prime Minister.

Sir David finished top in the survey of 1,851 adults, beating Harry Potter author JK Rowling and actress Emma Watson. Sir James Dyson and Sir Ian McKellen were also included - as well as Piers Morgan and Katie Hopkins.

Research was carried out by YouGov and 38 Degrees. Laura Townshend, 38 Degrees director, said: "This is a light-hearted look at which public figures Britain would most like in a fantasy front bench - but it proves that trust, honesty and answering questions directly play a big part in the public's decision making when it comes to who they would like to lead the country."

People under the age of 25 favoured Emma Watson while older adults burned a brighter political candle for Sir David.

Another celebrity on the list was Louis Theroux. Last month a petition asked Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn to step aside as there was a new top dog in town...

The petition titled 'Make Louis Theroux prime minister, because the political class is failing' heralds the 46-year-old BBC documentary as 'one of the most understanding, smart and trusted men in the UK' who 'has more skills to work out what is best for post-Brexit Britain than May, Farage and Corbyn combined'.

It continues: "Since the EU referendum in Britain, politicians, experts and those with the country in their hands have failed to show they are capable of leading the nation during this complex time.

"We call on the government to accept that the only right thing to do is appoint presenter, documentary maker and national treasure Louis Theroux as the next prime minister.

"And if he fails, at least he can make a bloody good film about it (or become leader of the opposition and fire some pretty great questions around the Houses of Parliament)."

They've even put forward a #LouisForPM hashtag for people to pledge their allegiance to him.
