Dwayne Johnson explains why he wees in water bottles at the gym

He's made it very clear that they're not the reusable kind

There’s no denying that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is perhaps one of the most hench people on this planet.

But those who like to take inspiration from the actor’s workouts may want to think twice as the actor has admitted that he pees into water bottles at the gym.

Yes, you read that right.

The former WWE star is certainly no stranger to health and fitness, and while he knows that in order to keep in his shape he needs to eat well and regularly exercise, he also knows there’s nothing more important than staying hydrated.

“I usually stay pretty hydrated,” Johnson told Esquire in an interview last year.

“I need to go to the bathroom a lot. Not a lot, but probably a couple of times during a workout I have to go to the bathroom. So I break out the bottle.”

Going into it in a little more depth, he said: “I do pee in my water bottles but let me give context to that.

It seems as if Dwayne Johnson has a peculiar habit in the gym.

“It’s not a water bottle that I’ve actually purchased solely for water that you wash and you clean when you’re done using it.

“These are just bottles that I’m no longer using and usually the gyms that I workout in don’t have a bathroom because they’re the iron paradise. It’s just hot, sweaty and dirty.”

Nice!

Commenting online, one person seemed (understandably) flabbergasted by this.

“That was too much information... What uh ‘facilities’ could possibly not have a bathroom,” they said.

“Also, it’s very difficult to pee in a water bottle. Maybe Gatorade, but water...no way.”

The Baywatch star regularly talks about his workouts and posts them on social media, but while most admire his physique, he’s also had to answer some unkind questions about his body too.

During an interview with Wired, he was faced with one of the internet’s burning questions as part of the ‘Autocomplete’ series.

And that question? "What’s wrong with the Rock’s abs?"

He replied: “That's so f**ked up!”

“There's nothing wrong with them, no. Here's the thing. I think because on Instagram, all these Instagram fitness models have these incredible six, eight, 12, 24-pack stomachs.

“I got like a five-and-a-half pack, sometimes a four-and-a-half pack,” he explained.

The former WWE star is no stranger to health and fitness.

He also revealed that he suffered a painful injury during a wrestling match which led to him needing surgery around his abdomen area.

He said: “But the problem was – which a lot of people don't know – I tore in a wrestling match, I tore the top of my quad off my pelvis, it went bang, in a wrestling match.

“And then what that did was that caused a chain reaction and it tore my abdomen wall, so then I had to do a triple hernia emergency surgery, of a tear, a tear and a tear. So, they're not like perfect abs.”
