17-year old Jake Daniels has come out as gay, making him the only publicly LGBTQ male professional footballer in the UK.

Jake Daniels is a professional footballer who plays as a forward. He has a professional contract with Blackpool until June 2024, and has scored 30 goals for their under-19s team this season. 

Daniels is the first British male footballer to come out as gay since 1990. He has said he was fed up of lying about who he really is, and wants to make the sport he loves a better, more welcoming place. He says he feels enormously liberated and supported so far.
