Tyson Fury Calls Out Game Of Thrones Star Hafthor Bjornsson For A Boxing Match

Tyson Fury has called out Hafthor Bjornsson for an exhibition boxing match that would certainly be a bout for the ages.

Bjornsson, known around the world as The Mountain from Game of Thrones, has been dipping his toe into the boxing world.

He recently defeated rival weightlifter Eddie Hall in their highly-anticipated grudge match.

Fury, who has retired from professional boxing, has now sparked speculation of a potential match up between himself and Thor.

The world heavyweight champion threw open the gauntlet for the potential fight by posting a sassy message on social media.

"I wonder if Thor Bjornsson could take a crashing right hand to that big jaw," Fury said via an Instagram story.

"Who would have Thor's hammer? Would this mountain be too big to climb?"

Bjornsson seemingly replied on his own social media account and wrote: "What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Maybe we'll find out."

He added in another Instagram story: "I'm 100 per cent up for war. Let's do this."

With both Fury and Thor standing at 6-foot-9-inches tall, this really would be a clash of the titans.

As for their weights, Fury once tipped the scales at a career-high 277 pounds against Deontay Wilder, while Thor probably walks around at that measurement.

However, Bjornsson has become incredibly shredded since taking up boxing, so he could be a little lighter.

It's highly unlikely that this would be a sanctioned boxing match though as both men expected to go down the exhibition route.

Fury said he would be open to competing in exhibition fights after hanging up his professional gloves following his win over Dillian Whyte.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, the Gypsy King said: “I'm going to do some exhibition fights, they're not real fights, it's for the entertainment. This is not professional boxing, this is pure entertainment, that's all it is, nothing more, nothing less.

"The difference is, the exhibition you're not there to win or lose, you're there to put on a show for the fans. You can fight old-timers, famous people, whoever you want.

"I'm looking to fight Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Frank Bruno or Dwayne Johnson, The Rock.

"I told (promoter) Frank Warren to show me the money and he has to if he wants me on those shows.”

Hollywood's richest star, The Rock, didn't respond to Fury's call-out earlier this month, but it seems another relatively well-known actor has.

Bjornsson has boxed in four professional fights since 2021, having won two and drawn the others.

Meanwhile, 33-year-old Fury is arguably still in his prime having fought the very best in the business, boasting a professional record of 32-0-1.
