Ryan Reynolds has kept his word on the Notts County vow after Wrexham's rivals complete a massive comeback win.

The Wrexham FC co-owner has stayed true to his promise after Notts County's victory over Boreham Wood, which saw them land a place in the highly-anticipated National League play-off final.

And it's clear the Hollywood A-lister is a man of his word after following through with his vow to root for the Notts County.

Wrexham were promoted to the National League title last month (22 April) after a record-breaking season.

The historical win landed the Welsh football club in the football league after a 3-1 victory over Boreham Wood, leaving them to beat rivals Notts County to the finish line.

The promotion battle was incredible, however, with both teams amassing over 100 points and enduring only three defeats all season.

Ultimately, Wrexham was the team to prevail and secure the promotion by just a narrow four point margin, leaving Notts County to battle it out in the play-offs.

Since then, Reynolds has consistently supported Notts County and revealed that he and co-owner Rob McElhenney would be championing them in the play-offs.

Despite the rivalry between the two clubs, Reynolds revealed: "It's something Rob and I feel quite strongly about. We are rooting for Notts County.

"We want to see them go up to League Two and face them next year. They're incredible."

After Wrexham's impressive 3-2 victory over Notts County last month, the star told BT Sport it was a shame that there was wasn't two automatic promotion spots.

He said: "I have such enormous respect for everything they've built and everything that they've done and it's just insane for me that only one goes up automatically.

"If it were different – and I think it should be – both of these clubs would be celebrating together right now.

"Because what they've done is not only created drama greater than anything you'd see in a damn movie but just something I think people will be talking about for ages."

And Reynolds' support hasn't stopped there as he watched on as Notts County made a major comeback after beating Boreham Wood 3-2 in their play-off semi-final clash.

The victory has landed the team a place in the Wembley Final next Saturday (13 May) where they will either face Bromley or Chesterfield.

The Deadpool actor even retweeted a clip of Jodi Jones' winning goal posted by Notts County's official Twitter page this afternoon (7 May).

He also liked several tweets connected to the club's impressive victory.
