When is the 2023 Super Bowl? Who is headlining the Half-Time Show? Where is the game played?

Details of the NFL’s ever-nearing final playoff game Super Bowl LVII are finally being revealed, with fans of the sport and international music fans champing at the bit for the US football showdown.

The Super Bowl is the peak of American sport and entertainment, the time, location, and performer set to appear during the half-time show has people planning months in advance for how to stream and prepare for the game.

When is the 2023 Super Bowl?

The Super Bowl is set to take place on Sunday, 12 February 2023 at 6:30 pm local time, which will be Monday, February 13 at 10:30am in Australia (AEDT).

The game will cap off the 2022 NFL regular season and will be the first Super Bowl played on February 13.

Who is headlining the Half-Time Show?

Rihanna will take the stage in 2023 as the Super Bowl LVII headliner.

She confirmed the news by posting a photo of herself holding an American football which sent social media into a tizzy.

Shortly after her Instagram post her label Roc Nation confirmed Rihanna would headline the major sporting event.

Roc Nation founder Jay-Z posted his praise for the ‘Umbrella’ singer to social media following the announcement.

"Rihanna is a generational talent," he said.

"A woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment."

Rihanna's shot at Super Bowl greatness has come around a second time.

The Caribbean singer turned down the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl LIII in support of Colin Kaepernick, who took a knee during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and social injustice.

TMZ reported that there are talks with a second performer to likely perform alongside Rihanna, however that is yet to be confirmed.

Nevertheless, it’ll be a challenge to go up against 2022’s mega-performance which saw Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent team up for a mega-medley of music.

But, if anyone’s up for the task it is certainly bad gal RiRi.

Where is the game played?

The next Super Bowl will be held at State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona.

For Aussies wanting to tune in, the game will air live on ESPN via Kayo Sports.
