Facebook has gone down, with millions of users hit with the same message when attempting to log in to the social media site this morning.
Anyone attempting to get onto the desktop version of the site has been denied access at the time of writing (Sunday 19 July).
Users are being faced with the message: "Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes."
Although it initially seemed to be an issue with just Facebook, Instagram also now appears to be down, which suggests that there may be a wider issue with Meta.

Users have been unable to see or share posts on both social media sites, with Instagram users receiving the following error message: “Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can”.
“Facebook loads on phone but not on laptop. Keep getting Account temporarily unavailable etc...... Working on phone just not on laptop,” one user reported.
“Yep happening to me here in the UK, cant access desktop version. any idea when this might be resolved?,” another wrote.
A Reddit user commented: “The website doesn’t work for me too, but the mobile app still works. Unfortunately I also cannot use the call feature of messenger. It tells me that my app is outdated but I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and still get the same error.”
Downdetector reported a spike on Facebook, Facebook messenger and Instagram just before 9am this morning, with over 5000 reports for Facebook, while Instagram peaked at just over 3500 shortly before 10am.
Facebook appears to have returned for some users this morning, shortly before 10.30am.
Meta also struggled with significant outages back in June when thousands of people reported issues with the huge social media sites.
LADbible group has contacted Meta for comment.
