Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is almost with us. Building on the rock-solid foundations of the first game, released back in 2016, the sequel is set seven months after the events of its predecessor, with the action moved from a wintry New York to the sun-kissed summertime of Washington, D.C., with all of its iconic landmarks.

The Division 2 offers both a sizeable solo campaign and plenty of opportunities to team up with friends to take on both intimidating Dark Zone missions - where risks can lead to massive rewards - and participate in intense PvP skirmishes. And you can get a taste of what the game has to offer early, as its open beta launches on 1 March, running until 5 March.

Check out the trailer for the open beta, below.

In summary, the open beta offers - for free, lest we forget - the following content:

3 Main Missions - two from the private beta, and one exclusively revealed in this open beta

5 Side Missions - explore the game's open world, engage in control points and other activities

Dark Zone Gameplay - take on the eastern Dark Zone for high-value rewards

PvP Conflict - skirmish with friends and enemies in this four-on-four mode

Endgame Content - participate in one special, invaded mission

Specialist Variety - play as one of three in-game specialists, each with unique skills
