Someone's Redesigned The PlayStation 1 As A Stunning Current Console
Although we all have fond memories of the classic PlayStation (PS1), there's no doubt in saying that it was an ugly looking console. Iconic, but ugly.
But, as with most things in life, it's what's on the inside that counts, and the same goes with video game devices. However, if manufacturers can make it look sexy, it's definitely a bonus.
Although this isn't an official Sony product, perhaps the tech giant should take a leaf out of Mingyu Kim's book for their next console - just look at the PS1 concepts he's created.
Kim's been working closely with practical product design company PDF HAUS to produce this colourful masterpiece, which is not only stunning but practical.
Yep, this concept could actually work if Sony ever decided to make it. Maybe they should, for the console's 25th anniversary? One can only hope.
They've actually done something similar in the past for the PS1's 20th anniversary. It might not have been a new console, but Sony give the PS4 a slick new paint job to celebrate the original PlayStation colourway, and it was gorgeous. Oh, and super rare. eBay prices are in the region of £1000.
The PlayStation 1 initially launched in Japan way back in 1994 but came to Europe, the US, and pretty much everywhere else one year later.
What do you think about this concept art? Would you buy one of these PS1 reworks? Which is your favourite colour? Let us know what you think.
