The next evolution of sea cruising has arrived with a multibillion vessel stretching to a mile long and housing 50,000 permanent residents.
Officially titled the 'Freedom Ship', this monstrous pinnacle of luxury engineering has been on the horizon for 30 years - first dreamt up by Norman Nixon before being indefinitely shelved.
14 years on from Nixon's death, the chief executive of Freedom Cruise Line International believes there's now justification to construct three ships, nevermind one, thanks to market demand.
Speaking to The Telegraph about plans to launch this groundbreaking cruise, Roger Gooch commented: "We feel very confident that we can put this together, but the capitalisation is key."

In other words, somebody, or a whole load of investors, need to cough up the cash to make the company's bold vision a reality.

Once the money is in the hands of the builders, the first step would be to get cracking on the floating city's hull in Indonesia.
Completion is estimated at three to four years, although Gooch claimed that people could move into their homes on 'Freedom Ship' midway through.
"Maintenance on our hull would actually be done while it's in the water every day, even while it's moored off shore," the exec revealed.
"The ship will constantly circumnavigate the globe, it never has a home port."
Anyone else suddenly hit with memories of the movie Snowpiercer?

Inside the ship will be enough space for an additional 10,000 visitors per day, alongside twice as many members of crew.
But how will the population of 'Freedom Ship' stay entertained throughout the year?
Well, plans include a 15,000-seater sports stadium, plus two museums and a water park.
"It's not a massive stadium, but it could also be used for events and concerts," teased project planner Kevin Schopfer. "Taylor Swift came up in the discussion at one point, but I said I don't know if we can handle that!"
A convention centre, symphony hall, restaurants, shops, schools, colleges, banks, a night club and an aquarium are all stuffed into the impressive build, too.
Due to its immense size - as many as 30 decks will be onboard - it'll likely be powered by nuclear energy.
Further to that, no port in the world is big enough to welcome 'Freedom Ship', meaning any passengers will be ferried to and from their offboard destinations.

"We started with the view that the ship should not be a monolithic piece but visually comfortable, so we softened all the edges," added Schopfer.
"We also want it to breathe, so we've gone to great lengths to allow walkways and green spaces."
The pictures look absolutely mind-blowing.
