Royal Caribbean cruises have come under scrutiny after one passenger revealed their rather shocking experience at one of the classes you can take on the open seas.
Like with Carnival, MSC, and P&O, Royal Caribbean offers a number of recreational classes you can book to enjoy during your time travelling with them. And they're a great way to spend those sea days where you don't dock at some of the world's most luxurious locations.
But some aren't as cracked up as they might appear, according to one recent review of its cupcake decorating class - something the cruise line says 'turns freshly baked cupcakes into masterpieces that are as dazzling as they are delicious'. Enticing.
Sadly that was not the experience for one traveller, taking their experience to Reddit.

Costing a whopping $48 per person including tip (yes, almost $50 to decorate cupcakes), the passenger said they spent 45 minutes in the class and ended up with one rather sad looking cupcake.
Posting a picture of their creation alongside a fellow passenger's, it showed two cupcakes with fondant eyes and an Oreo biscuit split in half for eyebrows. Fun but rather basic looking for the price, it has to be said.
The guest said the cupcake took five minutes to make, with the remainder of the time being eaten up in other non-cake focused ways.
"Our family member who did this on a previous cruise recalled it being more cupcake options and using the icing to decorate, not the play dough fondant stuff," they wrote.
"They really stretched the time."

As you can see from the images, there's been a bit of backlash given how much cruise holidays are already.
"Wtf?! Last cruise I was on I ran into people that did it," one person replied. They had literal armfuls of cupcakes trying to get back to there cabin.
"For that price its extortion, for just one I'd be at guest services."
A second posted: "People got to stop paying for these classes. These events should be part of the price of cruising considering how much fares cost."
And a third said: "That should have been a free activity."
Labelling the entire process 'an absolute scam', the cruise passenger revealed they complained via email and got a refund the week later, saying 'at least I had a positive experience with customer support', which is definitely something.
