An incredibly pampered pooch - whose owner has spent thousands of pounds on him - has been able to enjoy his very own Santa's grotto, complete with £2,000 worth of gifts.

Alisa Thorne, 52, wanted to give her beloved six-month-old pup Fabio a very special first Christmas so she pulled out all the stops - even spending a whole week turning her summer house into a winter wonderland.

Among the gift she splashed out on for little Fabio was a Swarovski crystal bowtie worth £600 and a £130 Cavalli onesie to add to his 800-item 'fur-drobe'.

Anyone else thinking this dog has got a better life than them?

Alisa bought the Chinese Crested Powder Puff back in July for £2,500 and immediately decided to throw a 'puppy party' where he was given a crystal encrusted bow tie and a convertible car costing £160.

When they go out for a walk, Fabio has his own pushchair.

Alisa, a hairdresser who recently appeared on BBC's 12 Puppies and Us, has spent more than £12,000 on the pup - who already has an impressive 5,000 followers on Instagram.

She said: "Fabio is my little baby and I love him to pieces.

"He's so adorable and I just want to spoil him with nice things."

During lockdown, she decided to set up an Instagram page for Fabio and was surprised by the influx of followers.

Alisa bought Fabio shortly after her 10-year-old dog Hugo died suddenly.

She explained: "I was beside myself after losing Hugo and it felt like fate when I got Fabio.

"I had spent thousands on Hugo but I donated it all - it didn't feel right keeping his things for another dog."

After buying Fabio she threw a puppy party, with around £1,000 worth of gifts, a balloon arch and a custom-made cake.

"The puppy party was fantastic - no expense spared," she said.

"We could only have two dogs around because of the social distancing rules, but it was a fantastic day."

Fabio has got 800 items of clothing, totalling almost £6,000 in price, and includes four fancy bowties that cost £600 each.

Speaking shortly before Christmas, Alisa said: "I've had his bowl designed and [I'm] looking for some more presents.

"It's been hard to find things in the lockdown because I want everything to be custom-made for him.

"I don't have any children so I see Fabio as my child.

"He has just joined a dog modelling agency and already been for a few shoots.

"He's just the sweetest dog.

"I had so much fun decorating the grotto and I have lots of festive costumes to dress him up.

"I don't have much family so having a nice Christmas together means a lot to me.

"I can't wait to help him open his presents."
