Man who spent £12,000 to become 'human border collie' says cruel dogs won't play with him

The viral human dog Toco is struggling to find friends

Memories of primary school might not be all shimmering days of bulldog or stuck in the mud.

Maybe there were days when your ‘friends’ wouldn’t let you play, or they’d leave you out of their games, and it felt like the worst thing in the world.

But you know, those were other humans leaving us out, not dogs leaving us out while we’re dressed up as one of them.

And now the bloke who spent £12,000 to become a 'human border collie' says cruel dogs won't play with him.

If you’ve not came across 'Toco-san' by now, he has quite the unique hobby.

He spent the whopper amount to create a realistic dog costume, which he typically only wore at home.

After plenty of time siting in a cage dressed as a border collie and getting walked around on a lead, the man decided to start visiting the park to meet ‘other dogs’.

Toco doesn't plan to call time on his hobby any time soon.

And despite getting plenty of attention online and spending so much on the costume, the canines he’s come across don’t seem to be fussed.

Toco told the Sun: “They seemed a little surprised and unfortunately, they did not treat me as an equal.”

He’s got a better plan though, instead of trying to be pals with real dogs, he’s looking for a fellow therian.

That’s a person who feels they are something other than a human in a non-biological sense.

He told KNewz: “I think it would be great if something like this existed. I would like to meet them.”

Toco is very much viral these days.

However he did tell The Sun he’s ‘made no progress so far’. The search continues.

Toco decided to go with a border collie because the breed is large enough that the costume would fit a human.

I mean, smart choice – he wouldn’t exactly pass for a little sausage dog would he?

“I made it a Collie because it looks real when I put in on,” he said via LBC. “I thought that a big animal close to my size would be good - considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog."

Now, you might think his hobby is a little odd and his YouTube videos are often flooded with judgy comments. One wrote: “You cannot convince me this isn’t some weird sex thing.”

But Toco said: “I'm just sad that people can think that. I love animals and enjoy play-acting like a collie. This is my hobby, so I will carry on.”
