Lads All Return To Their Home Town Every Year For Epic FIFA Tournament

Complete with opening ceremony.

There are few things better than getting a load of your mates together for a massive FIFA tournament, but these lads have put us all to shame.

James Whitley, 31, and seven of his mates all travel back to their home town every year for their annual World Cup tournament, complete with a brilliant opening ceremony.

The other regular competitors are Aaron Theaker, Joe Bradshaw, Chris Duffy, Rob Hutchings, Adam Ford, Matt De La Mare and Chris Jebb.

Everything is perfectly organised and all players are handed tournament packs upon arrival, containing player profiles, fixtures, rules and FIFA controls.

The lads battle it out in full kits with the winner taking home a £30 engraved trophy, a bottle of champagne and (most importantly) bragging rights for the next year.

James said: "We've all moved to different parts of the country and FIFA has always kept us together.

"We've been playing together since I can remember and doing the tournament gives us an excuse to meet."

"Each year it just seems to get bigger and crazier. We love doing it and I love hosting it.

"At the end of the day we are a bunch of mates all fighting to win."

This is the tenth annual tournament, and this year it was Aaron who took home the trophy.

Brilliant idea, lads.
